The Tanker the Pomella was sunk 7th September 1942

The vessel was part of a convoy WP183, which suffered disastrous losses when attacked by German E-boats operating from Cherbourg. the Pomella had an almost square shaped hull and the wreck lies on her starboard side with the deck in a vertical position and the bow to her west. There is a deep scour below the hull.
